Une pirogue quitte l’atelier de Christian Botale pour rejoindre le Musée d’art moderne et contemporain de Strasbourg. Elle s’arrête quelques heures, avant de poursuivre son chemin vers le port d’Anvers puis le Musée National de Kinshasa. Quelques heures au cours desquelles, l’artiste nous invite à imaginer avec lui une nouvelle trajectoire des patrimoines et à s’interroger sur leur appropriation et leur réappropriation.
Christian Botale est né à Kinshasa/Zaïre en 1980, après ses études primaires, son père l'inscrit aux humanités artistiques à l'école de beaux-arts, suite aux pillages et aux grèves des établissements public de l'état Zaïrois vers les années 1991 à 1994, il retourna dans son ancienne école privée sur un programme scientifique, baccalauréat option mathématique-physique. en 2000 il tente un cursus d'architecte à l'institut des bâtiments et des travaux publics, il finit sa course à l'institut des beaux arts de Kinshasa, en communication visuelle. Son parcours deviennent riche lorsqu'il entreprend plusieurs liens entre scientifique et art . En 2008 il fait un passage à l'école de journalisme à Kinshasa et tente un concours d'équivalence à l'école supérieure des arts décoratifs de Strasbourg(France), il sera admis en 2009 en option art laboratoire Art3, puis devenu la Confédération, puis Art hors-Format, il travaille intense pendant trois ans avec Francisco Ruiz de Infante, Pierre Mercier, Philippe Lepeut, Eléonore Héllio, Dominique Auerbacher, Joachim Montessuis, et Anne Laforet. Vers la fin de son cursus, il fait un passage à l'atelier peinture avec Daniel Schlier… En 2012, Il obtient un Master en Art avec les félicitations du jury à la haute école des arts Rhin.
