Imagine a moment frozen in time, where everyone can write down their own act of ‘escape’ – a small act of ecological resistance that speaks to you. On paper that will return to the earth, you will write down what matters to you. For twenty minutes, we will create a simple yet profound ritual together. I will guide you without words, simply through gesture and presence. After writing your message, you will gently slip it into a balloon filled with soil and seeds, like a plant-based time capsule. Then comes the magical moment. A whispered countdown, and with a single collective gesture, we will burst these bubbles of possibility. The soil will fly, the messages will be released, the seeds will mingle with our hopes. It won’t be spectacular, but it will be profoundly real. We’ll remain in silence for a moment, contemplating this fleeting map of our desired futures. Come along with a desire to be part of something fragile yet powerful. No special talent is required, just the willingness to share a gesture that matters. Between poetry and ecology, come and sow the seeds of our futures with us.
Chiara Ferlito is a Roman artist and performer whose work explores the female body, gestural painting and the relationship between space, music and presence. She studied physical theatre in Strasbourg at INLAND and theatre at the Padiglione Ludwig Academy, whilst pursuing a Master’s degree in Art History. The winner of several awards, including MAPP in Montreal, she has developed Racont’art, a project where narrative, pictorial gesture and audience participation come together. Through her performances, she seeks to reveal the uniqueness of each body and to create sensory and shared experiences.
